Sharing on a popular Facebook page, mum-of-five Brooke revealed how she spent just $205 transforming the space.
The homeowner said she used Kmart’s popular Self Adhesive 3D Tiles – Subway White to create an all-new kitchen splashback.
Brooke also used heavy duty white vinyl to change her cupboards from dark brown to bright white – and added other styling pieces from Kmart to complete the space.
“I’ve hated my dark brown kitchen for over 10 years and we have plans for a big renovation in the next two years (moving the kitchen),” Brooke said on the Kmart Home Decor & Hacks Australia Facebook page.
“But I couldn’t stand the brown any more so I ordered some heavy duty outdoor signage vinyl from a company I use all the time and wrapped the cabinets and used the Kmart stick on tiles for the splashback, how good does it look?!
“We all absolutely love it! The space now feel huge, so bright and clean. Zero regrets!”
Brooke said she used several Kmart buys in her new-look kitchen.
“I purchased (the tea and coffee shelf) at Kmart around three years ago, I’d say in the home section,” she explained. “It was the big ‘coffee station’ faze. I still love it!
“Splashback – Kmart stick on subway tiles, $25 a pack. I used five packs. Dish drainer (is from) Kmart.”
She also gave her “old” barstools a new lease of life with a lick of paint.
The busy mum and grandmother went on to say she completed the huge project all on her own.
“I did this ALONE. Literally, just me – so don’t wish it, do it!” Brooke said.
She added: “ I am a mum of five and also have two grandbabies running around here at the moment and Sunday is family day.
“Yes my life is full and I love it!
“We added everything up and I kid you not, it actually all only cost $205 all up!”
Brooke went on to share details of her video on how to use vinyl wrap to transform her kitchen, saying anyone can do it.
Thousands of Kmart fans were blown away by the mum’s transformation.
“You’ve done amazingly! Your before photo is exactly what my kitchen looks like now and I’ve been on my partner’s back about getting it renovated ever since we moved in!” said one.
“I’m definitely using your kitchen as inspiration as I was expecting we would have to pay thousands!”
Said another: “OMG I’m in the same boat! Really want to get rid of my splashback and brown cabinets. I feel inspired to do the same. Love what you did.”
Wrote a third: “Amazing transformation! You’ve done an unbelievable job on a small budget! Big Bang for your buck!
“Goes to show what you can achieve with a bit of ‘out of the box thinking’ and a ‘just get in there and do it attitude’.”
Said one more: “Wow, it looks like a brand new kitchen. Great job.”
