Ray Romano to play Jim Valvano in movie about NC State coach

A film concerning the lifetime of former NC State basketball coach Jim Valvano is within the works, studies Deadline, with “Everyone Loves Raymond” star Ray Romano taking part in the lead function.

Romano can even produce the movie, in line with Deadline, and the script might be from Jim Strouse (“The Profitable Season”).

He led his underdog Wolfpack workforce — generally known as “The Cardiac Pack” — to an NCAA nationwide championship in 1983, defeating the closely favored Houston Cougars with a buzzer-beating dunk. He was fired in April 1990 after an issue over allegations of educational negligence within the basketball program, and have become an announcer for ESPN.

Valvano was identified with metastatic bone most cancers in 1992 and gave his “Don’t Give Up” speech throughout the first ESPY awards in 1993, whereas accepting the Arthur Ashe Braveness and Humanitarian Award.
