TV: ABC’s ‘Real Queens of Hip-Hop’ looks at women rappers

The ABC News special “The Real Queens of Hip-Hop: The Women Who Changed the Game” gives an intimate look at the evolution and impact of women emcees and rappers.

The Real Queens of Hip-Hop: The Women Who Changed the Game (10 p.m., ABC) – This ABC News special — coming the day before ABC premieres it’s new hip-hop drama “Queens” — gives an intimate look at the evolution and impact of women emcees and rappers, told by the trailblazing artists who helped create a musical and cultural empire. Narrated by Salt of Salt-N-Pepa, with spoken word by MC Lyte, and new interviews with rappers Eve, Da Brat, Trina, City Girls, Monie Love, Yo-Yo and more, and an original score by WondaGurl.

La Casa de Mama Icha (10 p.m., PBS NC) – In this POV documentary, Mama Icha returns to her hometown of Mompox, Colombia. decades after moving to the U.S. to help care for her grandchildren.
